Giving Back to Sick Kids!

In 2009, I raised $2,011 for Sick Kids Hospital and donated my hair to Angel Hair for Kids. Over the past few years I have been growing my hair out again in hopes of making an even bigger contribution. For those of you who don't know, Sick Kids played a fairly significant role in my childhood. I was born with a cleft palate, which basically means my mouth wasn't fully developed, leaving a hole in the roof of my mouth. The doctors and nurses at Sick Kids taught my parents how to feed me and care for me until I turned one year old and they could perform the surgery to fix this. Over the next eight years, Sick Kids continued to follow up with my family and check on my development through various tests, exercises and speech therapy sessions. I am extremely appreciative for everything they have done for me, and I feel quite passionate about giving back. Sick Kids truly is a wonderful hospital and I know they do so much to support families with children undergoing major surgeries and battling all kinds of illnesses on a daily basis. I want to do my part to ensure they can continue to do what they do best, and I am thankful for anyone who is able to contribute! Thank you!
